The filming of Message for Parents is timely. We are hoping to release the interviews to shed light on how difficult it is for parents and youth today to receive reliable services. Please stay away from hateful and vile social media posts that do nothing but add stress. Don’t get caught up in arguments in parent groups whose members may or may not know enough about transgender care.

Reports have come in from parents whose trans youth are years into adulthood who see posts of some of the ill-advised given to parents seeking information and have struggled with deciding if this particular incidence needs to be reported. Monitors of these groups may not be aware of what is sound and trustworthy supporft versus ill-advise. It would require a medical or mental health professional skilled and expertise in transgender care to serve as monitors.

Remember to take a deep breath and trust your inner gut as this will most likely be your best guide during these uncertain times.
