Parents in Florida face a surmounting number of challenges that discriminate against their LGB, transgender, gender diverse, and two-spirit youth. The ill-informed use of the term grooming sent waves of terror into the homes of parents who support their TGD and two-spirit youth. The problem with using the ill-fitted term "grooming" is that it implies that parents are sex offenders. Online content tremendously affects viewers and can be damaging and dangerous. Anti-trafficking advocates have deep concerns about the ramifications of people loosely using the term "grooming," taken from the anti-trafficking world, where there are consequential outcomes. This loosely used term has garnered more concern and attention among those who have very little understanding of TGD and two-spirit youth. 

Stand with your child. Help educate others who speak against supporting TGD and two-spirit youth. Remind people that grooming is a practice sex traffickers use to entrap youth in commercial sex trafficking.
